Open Talent Night
CONTACT: Mike Flood (President) Kansas Celebrity Hall of Fame (620) 330-0675
The Kansas Celebrity Hall of Fame (KCHOF) will host a monthly Open Talent Night this Thursday, Sseptember 3rd from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Aspiring musicians and singers may perform on the stage to an audience on the first Thursday of the month. This gives the opportunity to obtain experience or just have fun. The KCHOF began hosting Open Talent Night this April and was very surprised at the talent. There have been bands and individuals singing everything including original music. All you have to do is bring your instruments or CD tracks and the KCHOF will handle the rest.
The KCHOF is happy to offer the facility to the local community. Entertainment is an important part of several of our exhibitors including Jim Halsey. Jim's exhibit includes many of the artists he represented over his 60 year career. This includes artists such as Clint Black, Tim McGraw, Roy Clark, The Oak Ridge Boys, Glen Campbell, Tammy Wynette, The Judds, BB King and others. The Open Talent Night gives local musicians and singers the opportunity to get the feel of performing in a setting with the exhibited artists of The Jim Halsey Company.
The exhibits of over 20 famous Kansas celebrities will be open for viewing during the event. The admission is only $3.00 each with performers being admitted free. Past Open Talent Nights have been entertaining so the public is invited to join in the fun.
The Kansas Celebrity Hall of Fame opened September 28, 2012. The location is 212 N. Penn, Independence, Kansas. The KCHOF is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) operation organized under Independence Museums, which includes the Landon Center, Historical Research Center, The Kansas Celebrity Hall of Fame, and The Independence Historical Museum & Art Center.
Many downtown merchants are open for your shopping pleasure. The Independence Historical Museum and Art Center is also open on Thursday Evenings during the Lincoln Exhibit.
